^^^ Aint that true, A good friend has a porche and my old bone-camaro will smoke the **** outa it to just about any speed.... for a short time, then my car realizes is a hot rod and shakes, vibrates, and rattles its way down to a sane speed. Trying to build a F-body to sustain that kinda speed is like trying to push a rope.

When he said he was doing 145, he seemed to barely be passing traffic. I guess traffic was doing 90 or so. I know how fast you go by people doing 65 when you're doing 90-100. It's like they aren't moving.
Years ago, I remember a test in Road and Track or Car and Driver on a track with a Lingenfelter 383 LT1 Formula where Phil Hill was testing all these souped up V8 US musclecars. He said the Formula was as steady as on rails at extreme speeds, much better than the other cars. I would have to agree though, that if I were to travel at 160 plus for extended periods, which I won't be as I'm far from rich, I would want to be in a car designed on the Autobahn.

im done well over 160 in my T/A and its pretty stable but its loud as ****. im with you though, ive been just as fast on my bike and its a better ride..
4000lbs? I bet that F50 is close to 2700 with passengers, that Porsche GT2? Probably no more than 3000lbs, probably around 2500.

It is amazing that statements like this are made on the internet when all you have to do is look it up, F50 = 3000, GT2 = 3100

I read that it was close to 2600 lbs way back in 4th grade when I had a book report 10+ years ago my bad. I knew it wasn't nowhere near 4000lbs+. The GT2 weight I got off of Forza 2, could have gotten it with the weight reduction or something, or maybe I'm thinking of a whole different car.

There is no comparison between these cars and what they are running LOL. Ever seen the windows suck out of a corvette at 170MPH?

I feel safer going 180 on my bike haha.

Some of you need to drive some other cars and realize what stability at those speeds is all about. Going 150 in a BMW or Porsche is so incredibly different.
I second this.

I've been 150mph too many times to count, 160 about 6-7 times, 170 about twice, and 180mph once. The faster you go in this car the scarier the experience. And it gets pretty hair raising when you're stuck in the mid 160's with the pedal planted and you get a cross wind. It's not like you can totally let off the gas in this car or brake with a good amount of force at that speed without certain catastrophy.

I drive a convertible too so that probably doesn't help any.

Good video. I think an FBody would not be the best thing for this race. But, three yrs ago (the race we were watching) the 3rd place team was four playboy bunnies in a Mini S. So a camaro could place in this sorta race...just not play on these crazy stretches.

a lambo Murc. is up around 3700lbs...take that plus an average driver weight of 175-200lbs, your close to 4000....i was using that as an example but i should of clarified.
