i can tell you a full weight 6-speed car with a STOCK longblock has gone 9.5@140 before. don't know what he was making power wise as he tuned it at the track between runs.

Sounds like 800- 900rwhp. Trap would be a bit low for those power levels, but the ET is there for sure.

GT had the camera man and Z had tires, rims, and jacks in the back of his car.

ok, see I've had a vette and I know he didn't have tire's in the back of that thing, maybe A jack, but I don't see all of that fitting. **** only way I can get tire's into my cobra is to drop the top! Even then it's a tight fit.

You're right. Let's run a bone stock GT500 against a bone stock LS2 Vette with a 100 less horsepower.

Oh yeah, that's been done too. The $30,000 "over" sticker Cobra Mustake loses there too.

On a side note, a 134 rwhp>800 pounds of dead weight.

Since when are Mustangs in the same class as Z06's, or any Corvette for that matter? I never understand it when people compare the two cars like they are the new "Camaro vs Mustang" or something ever since Ford started producing 12 second Cobras.

Let me re-phrase:

How much horsepower must be added to the 500 horsepower solid axle (read advantage) blown Shelby Cobra to match a stock 400 horse LS2 Vette with an IRS in a drag race?

What really stings them is when you tell them that Mach ones run 12's stock.. Man they get pissed.

None, the vette is never going to trap 117, therefore traction being equal it has no chance to run with the "pig" Cobra. Have a nice day! This is also assuming the Vettes Rear end doesn't explode on it's first trip down the 1/4.

If you look at the "average" numbers in magazines that have tested these two vehicles, you WILL find that the 400 horse LS2 Vette will beat the 500 horse Cobra.
