Year One DIY Network Burt Builds a Bandit Contest
Hey all,
A few weeks ago I started shooting my entry for the DIY Network Burt Builds a Bandit Contest. The prize is 100k (20k cash and an 80k valued Year One restored Bandit).
I was a tad worried about 2 videos that were already uploaded that were pretty tough competition, but I felt I had them beat when I submitted. I later found out those were professionally edited samples by the DIY Network to give people an idea of the quality they had to put out.
Here is my entry: (btw, please leave a comment and rate the video. Also pass it onto any friends or other forums you visit. I want to get this spread all over the net)
Fan of the Bandit: A bandit fan makes his daily commute to work dressed as the bandit and laying the peddle to the metal, including taking dusty shortcuts.

Yeah I wish I could have done a burnout. The rules were strict on keeping the video legal. Off-road was ok but you can tell the rest of the footage was mostly sped up. Very unlike me if you've seen any of my other vids.
If it was no holds barred, I would have jumped the ******.

Hah oops yeah we left the car door open. I guess we can chalk it up for movie bloopers.
As far as jumping off-road, they felt they had the right in the rules to "Disqualify" if something was done in the film that was considered "overly-dangerous". They don't want to be responsible for people trying to do stunts etc.
Here are some pictures of the car. I have a detailed Fquick page for it as well. It was recently featured in Auto Tuning World Magazine.
