Corvette Z06/Corvette SS KILL
Obviously if you're talking modified cars, like the one in that video, then that's a whole different ballgame. But stock for stock, I doubt the ZR-1 will have much to worry about, besides maybe a shitty driver behind the wheel.
remember reading an article about lambo or ferrari that they went to paddle shifting mainly because customers had trouble shifting quick enough when getting on it from first-third gear....doesnt make sense to me when those engines redline in the 7's and up.

This is a 2008 Viper with exhaust/no cats/headers/ all supplied by Hennessy on DR's..
Not to shaaby for exhast and drag radials...On stock tires they ran the car to an 11.8 at 135 mph...Traction sucked badly that day...
I dont know if the 2008' Vipers are really gonna take out the new SS vette with it's 3350 pounds and 620 HP..But it's gonna be a fun battle to watch..

11.8 on street tires, huh....I got his ***...11.41 on street tires and I'm running full exhaust. lol. The ZR1 is gonna be a mid to low 10's car right out of the box, what with the new "launch sensitive suspension", perfect for drag racing.I expect that a really good driver may dip it into 10.2's and maybe 9's with DRs.Vipers....BFD.
but 3350, that does seem a little heavy, especially with all the carbon fiber thats going onto the car.
but then again, when compared with a challenger, camaro and GT500, it does weigh considerably less.
But since any new Viper threads will eventually begin a bench racing discussion pitting it against the ZR-1, here's a great article.

And I guess that's where the 3350 and 620 estimates came from, haha. But they are still estimates. Hopefully GM will step it up in the last year or so before we start seeing them.
Or even better, hopefully they will be extremely underrated like the LS1s!

if anyone has ever seen the katech ls7 camaro, imagine what they could do with this car. wonder if lingenfelter will come up with something to make the ZR-1 even better?

Seriously...modding a FI car is too easy. I wonder what the limit will be horsepower wise for the ls3/ls9 before **** breaks.

Hi Killemall -
I would submit for your consideration that there have been people run 10.8's in the "lowly" LS7 powered Standard Z06, on street tires.
I don't think too many people are going to be worried about meeting up with any Hennessey iron on the street.
I would think that this Viper had more in it and that the driver did not get a very good launch, with such a great trap speed.
Too bad vipers don't come with a seasoned old Corvette drag race driver....

best regards-
mqqn

but killman is right...if they had rollin starts at the strip.

next hes goin to post a vid and say that the viper will out drift the zr1 (ss) as well..
