ok ic, so the reason that it was even a race had more to do with the fact that they didn't race from a dig, instead 15-170, so the evo didn't have as big of a traction advantage? ...and maybe because peak numbers aren't as important as under the curve...oh ok the HTA 35r has 'a way faster spool' so it probably has a broad power curve. OR the viper runs mid tens and the evo runs low tens in the 130's. Just trying to figure out why the 550-600hp evo didn't destroy the 460-500hp viper. thanks guys

The Viper in this video has run 12.1 @118-120 IIRC.

He has had 3 Vipers so forgive me if I am mistaken. The 93 RT/10 (rated 400hp crank stock) that had intake and exhaust mods plus a gear upgrade went 12.1 @118 also. It dyno'd 418 RWHP. He also currently owns an '03 SRT-10 that has dipped into the 11' @ 120-122mph with factory k&n filters + smooth tubes and possibly exhaust mods.

The EVO in question has not been dyno'd, only taken to the track and trapped 116 with the older 20g turbo setup on pump. It was g-teched and confirmed the EXACT same times repeatedly. Now with the 35r combo, it hasn't been to the track but the g-tech is showing waaaay more mph and several more tenths shaved off while spinning all the way through 1st gear. That is the only indication of how much power it is making. The nearest AWD dyno is...not near at all!

Is the 500awhp?. We'll never know, but it certainly has no problem reeling in a Viper given a huge lead, from a roll. BTW, 0-60mph comes up in 3.3 seconds spinning. lol

The previous turbo he had was the FP green which is a stock Evo 9 turbo with a 20g compressor wheel so its not a true 20g. and it def should trap WAY higher now compared to the FPgreen which is average 11.5's @117-120 without maxing out the boost on it.

Nice races... but dont be dumb... doing 170mph up a slight hill with no visibility over the other side... not smart. Atleast have someone up ahead with a 2 way.

thanks for the compliments guys... we had a good time

The viper is certainly no slouch and with dad power shifting I had my hands full. I can power shift also but chose not to because I wan't my transmission to last a long time so I was lifting to shift.

I do believe my car makes 500awhp based on the g-tech traps and dyno software that agrees, however I don't think it's getting there until 8000 rpm so the power under that isn't as high. you'll noticed that when I first shift into the next gear I stop the viper pull but it's not until very high rpm that I start reeling him on in. 5th gear sucks *** on the EVO vs a 6 speed viper so it was very hard to come around him and especially at low RPM when I shifted to 5th.

we would have gone from a dig but you wouldn't have gotten to see a viper anywhere in the video haha

Mellon does that G-tech throw your 1/4th times off? The one i was messing with last night had the correct trap but 1/4th was off by 1.2 sec's

wow 1.2 seconds?? was it the ancient model?

I've taken mine to the track with me in the stealth and evo...the 60' on the g-tech is a little slow, a 1.66 was a 1.70 on the g-tech typically but the 1/8th and 1/4 et and mph was dead on down to the hundreth in most cases...certainly good enough to use on the street to get a very good idea about where I am and I can see if the tune is helping/hurting me.

Just wondering cause it said I ran 12.8@118 lol and I know you know thats not right, I dont think it was working correctly. It was one of the older black ones that you just plug into the lighter slot. doesnt have the vehicle calibration like the new one's do.

For what i have on the car I expected to run high 11's the MPH is actually good for mid-low 11's just about

you don't drive a supra do ya? just kidding ! yeah that's way off. I had the old black one too for a long time and with my stealth the e.t was about 1 tenth fast and 6mph too fast. Once I figured out that it was consistently off that much it was still useful for tuning and trying new mods etc..

I might go your route with the new flash, you plan on coming into tx anytime soon? Jestr has my ecu locked but im sure you know how to unlock it.

cool, nothing on the books for TX right now but certainly if there were enough cars to warrant a trip or if someone didn't mind paying extra for their own tune I'd fly out.

I've a handy dandy ecu unlocker tool and I don't lock the ECU from my customers, it's their ECU, not mine

not a problem for me... I'm running PTE 880's on the stock ecu/mas with the 35R and it drives like stock until you mash the loud pedal
