my a4 98' z28 came with a steel driveshaft stock and it snapped right in half. lesson learned...don't skimp on a decent driveshaft!

I just did that about 2 months ago. Went to SAR, Mickey's, and floor jack in car, ended up stripping a lug and had to run on my 275 nitto's. First 5 passes launched off idle. 6th pass, adjusted the qa1's, set to 20 psi and heated em up good, dumped at ~2500-3000, twisted the ds at the loop like a coke can, didnt even make it passed the tree. My poor car had to spend the night at the track.

The PST from EPP is a nice piece, just a little hard to get in w/ a saftey loop. I had to lower the cross member (tunnel mounted tq arm) to get it in.

Yes, they will interchange. Don't expect the aluminum to be stronger. It isn't.

hmmm thanks for the info guys, so if this is true it means that my 2.73 rear car has the steel Driveshaft, and from what im hearing from your guys they are not any stronger than the alum. ones. would you all recommend me replacing my steel to an aluminum DS after the T56 swap or do you think the steel one would be fine

I actually think the steel shaft is stronger. I would just keep the one you have unless you notice any balance issues. The aluminum shafts seemed to be balanced better.

Problem being with the steel ds are they can get off balance over 120mph and can break the tailshaft on the trans.

Your right

An uncle of mine had the ds fall off while he was driving and it got stuck in the ground somehow and catapulted him into the air. He was driving some sort of suv though
