Default G8 Test drive vid..

Damn nice car...

A couple things tho.. Pontiac should do something about the Grand Am-ish front end.. It has never really changed..

Form the side it almost resembles a BMW M5...

They talk about its performance and say its the "Best Pontiac ever".... as a Trans Am owner I have to disagree and a damn near every GTO owner will disagree too. Its a good looking car for what it is, but those are some bold *** statements Edmunds.com lol.

how could they claim it's the best that Pontiac's ever came out with? haha...wow that is VERY bold. The T/A is faster from 0-60 and on the 1/4...i do like the 50/50 weight distribution though. I dunno, i just think the car looks hideous. -1 for the G8

I don't agree with the statements that edmunds made but,I do like the car.Maybe I'm just getting older but, actually having some decent room in the rear along with being very fun to drive sounds sweet to me...

Don't get me wrong, definately not out growing the F-Bodies but, this would find a home real quick beside my SS!

Notice how the commentary seems to have a bone to pick with previous Pontiacs?

Commenting about the appearance..."the lack of garish spoilers and body cladding,is a welcomed departure from Pontiacs of the recent past"

If anything recent Pontiacs could be accused of being too bland. G6 and GTO for example. Not that Im complaining. Now the 90s GP's and Bonnevilles, maybe they did have a lot of cladding, etc.

Dont forget you want it for $30k.
At least you arent expecting it for $25k in a Camaro anymore.

I agree. I don't have a problem with the base trims being so bland, but the GT or at the very least the GXP models could use a lot more of that aggressive styling that they used to incorporate on nearly all of their cars. The G6 GXP "Street Edition" is not my idea of that concept lol.

Because "performance" is more than just going in a strait line

I think some fender flares and taking off two doors would make it alot better looking. Maybe chop it an inch or two!

It's LS powered so you know it's gonna be fast, and who keeps their cars stock anyway?

50/50 weight distribution, THE DAMN CAMARO BETTER HAVE THIS TOO!!! They talk about an IRS for it but are to cheap to Transaxle the Mfer.

The IRS is just another benefit of the chassis its going to share. A transaxle would not only be costly, but probably wouldn't fit seeing the chassis wasn't designed for it.

I hope you don't mind loosing to a sedan...
BTW, for the same price, which would you rather be sitting in?

The Challenger interior is nice. People have obscene expectations anymore, it's crazy.

Plus it's a coupe. Sedans are teh evil. Ugly and for old people, no matter how fast they are.

(and if GM insults it's heritage by calling the Pontiac Coupe a GTO, rather than the proper twin to the effing camaro, then I'd _definitely_ pay Chrysler. Putz needs to be kicked out on his ***)

I disagree. Thats the $40K SRT8 interior, and it looks like it came from a rental car. The only good looking thing out of it are the seats.
Honestly it would be different for me if it looks like they put some effort into it, or if they did this to cut weight (which at 4100lbs, obviously they did not). The $25,000 Mustang GT interior looks better IMO, it atleast has some character.
Hell I wouldn't complain if they did the concept interior (which still looks kinda cheapish, but atleast has character)

Everyone has their own opinion, I happen to love the look of RWD performance sedans like what Holden and Ford AUS produce.

Are you talking about the photochop G8 coupe? FYI, the G8 is on the same Zeta platform the Camaro is using, so they are "twins" in that sense.
