Yes, and when you go to sell it, its worth a fraction of the price you invested in parts.
Thats what some people fail to realize. Yes, an F body can be built to outperform an exotic. But, at the end of the day, its a camaro/firebird. Its worthless. You buy an exotic and it not only retains value better but mods will usually add more value (depending).
Theres also something to be said for "exclusivity". I hate having the same **** as everyone else.

Honestly I hate Porsche not because they are not nice cars. I will admit that they are fast and probably a hell of a lot of fun to drive and are built very well, in fact I would love to drive one. But however I would not buy one with my own money, just something about the looks of them that I don't care for, just can't see me spending that much on a VW beetle

You're trying so hard to defend the breed that you started getting defensive without anyone even calling them white trash dogs, the dog just happens to be in the picture.
Get over it already!

I've seen that picture before numerous times... and I laugh everytime it's reposted.
And I couldn't be further from "Mr. Mullet Madness.", but I laugh at that everytime I hear it from co-workers when I drive my car to work.

And I respect anything that is fast or built for driving pleasure. Whether it's a luxury sedan with 400hp or a porsche or a shelby cobra (the real ones, not the mustangs). If driving it makes someone happy, then I can respect that. Actually, my unlce just took delivery of a 911 turbo a few weeks ago. My Dad drove it and was impressed, but actually said my car certianly felt quicker, and he thought that it felt more positive. One thing he didn't like was that my uncle got it with the paddle shifters rather than a true 6 speed.
To each his own I guess. I like them, but to me nothing sounds better than a high compression V8 with a lumpy cam.
