What the hell is wrong with my car... Can someone please explain why my car is beating cars that out do it in WHP and WTQ. We have been trying to figure this out for a while. How is it able to beat cars it shouldn't beat? From a dig and a roll? Can't say driver mod because how hard is it to race from a roll. Cant say weight because I weigh 270-280 so that pretty much negates any weight advantage my car gets. I mean wtf, First its Mykel's C6... now this... Its getting so bad that I'm getting accused of lying about my mods.

What's up with my car?

who cares, your cars awesome Let the haters hate!

IMO, a c5Z should beat a C6 so no suprise there.. As for the C5 with the 383, well idk, what did he dyno? maybe he's lacking something? c5 z06's are no slouches by any means, i'm not suprised at all. If anything i think these people are not giving the LS6 enough credit. Good races!

A correctly built nitrous motor will require a larger ring gap, thus causing blow-by when not running N2O. On the other hand, a naturally aspirated motor (such as yours) uses a smaller ring gap which will allow it to perform better using the same atmosphere.

However, once the juice is introduced, it's an entirely different animal. As I'm sure you know.

What converter does the other car have? It sounds like it needs a bigger converter and some gears ASAP.

Yeah. But he dyno'ed 440whp/430wtq because of the baby cam.

But thats still like 80more whp than me.... and 100wtq

But the reason he's running that baby cam, is because he is saving up for a 6speed conversion, and an Ls7 swap. So I basically need to get my wins while I can....

Thats still weak, my h/c/i put down 451rwhp and 415rwtq and thats on the stock bottom end. 224/224 is a bad choice for a 383. Just remember your car is geared up compared to a stalled auto.

I agree with regorih he needs a bigger cam for the bigger ci, it would unrestrict that motor alot.

I can't speak for the race from a dig, but as far as the race from a roll, auto cars are not the best from a roll no matter if the car has more power. Me and a buddy raced from a roll a week ago. His car is 99 ws6 with heads and cam stall and it runs 11.60 all day it put 405hp 393ft lbs to the wheels. My car is a STOCK 06 vette with a m6 and the fastest I could get it to go is 12.83. Now when we raced from a roll he couldn't catch me and I was actually pulling away from him. The run was from 50-155

Yeah its a baby cam. He knows it too. He had it on his stock LS1 setup, and decided to stroke that motor. So he just finished getting it stroked out to a 383 and had to just reuse the cam for now. He plains on getting a special cam spec'd out and trickflows. And that should wake his car up for sure.

From a dig....tranny problems and what appears to be a lack of a good start by him. From a roll....obviously he had tranny problems again....and he has an auto with what's probably a fairly small converter. C5Z's are geared for highway pulls man...that's why you can edge out an auto on a roll. Let him get his short shifting problem fixed and race from a dig again.

Only time his tranny was actually an issue was from a dig, when it shortshifted. The second race he didn't get a chance to put it into 2 (his car runs harder when he goes through the shift gate on his own.) And the 3rd race was perfect for him. Hell, if you notice, I started about 1/2 a car behind him. And still pulled decently.

But, He's actually getting a 6 speed conversion done. And once thats done, we will line them up again for sure.

Well that makes since because your probably down about 40whp in a lighter, manual car. I'm down 80whp/100wtq in similar sized cars. We knew the auto and the gear would play a factor in the race. But we weren't thinking it would be the difference maker between 100wtq. Well, maybe this will make him speed up that 6 speed conversion.

yea run an auto car with a good tranny and driver with that kind of power and the outcome would be very different. However would still be a good race from a roll due to him being heavy and auto

The auto vette had a stock converter, that's a big part of the problem for sure. He also had the weight of a passenger.

That 383 was struggling big time. That converter is WAY too tight. A better converter and a more appropriate rear gear with a transmission that works would turn the tables. The last race from a roll it sounded like he punched it and the converter flashed to 2500rpm
