The stock rears are very weak, especially for more than stock horsepower. Replacing it should be high on your list. This wreck is the worst case scenario, but it could happen to anybody.

Damn that REALLY sucks.
Seems to me like the rear broke when he let off the gas and well you can never recover from that. Ive seen it happen to plenty of racecars and usually it ends in a nice crash for them too.

I did this with my previous car when it was wrecked, and they gave me "dealer ready" condition with it, which is very rare and means that I got max value for it.

Do you have more of the pics of your car that chris took? If you have them, put them on a memory card, go to walgreens and print them out. For a 3x5 print it's like 35 cents. Give those to the adjuster (or someone at the insurance company that will get them to him) so that they can see how good of a condition the car was in before the wreck. See if you can find a couple of the interior too if you have any good ones. Anything you can use to show that it was in good condition.
