my car bursting into flames at the track (video) on my last run went to do my burnout and all of a sudden the guy starts waving and yelling to cut my engine and pop the hood.
MY FREAK'N ENGINE WAS ON FIRE
saftey crew got there quick, popped the hood and put it out.
looks like the ground came off the alternator and wrapped up in the belt.
shouldn't be too bad to fix that, but it's leaking a little oil now too.

other video is of 2nd pass, nice launch at 5500, hooked HARD!!! 1.57 60'
couldn't get the tranny into 4th though... 12.4 coasting

Re: my car bursting into flames at the track That sucks. In the video you see your lights go dim, then come back with a burst of life in hopes of trying to stay alive 
then just completly dies. Nice lookin car though

Re: my car bursting into flames at the track think the car is alright. haven't got a chance to look at it closer yet to day, but it looked like the ground came off the alternator and got caught up in the belt. Then some oil caught on fire, possibly leaking out of the valve cover

Re: my car bursting into flames at the track always could have been worse. Last night a minivan had run out of gas and stopped on the shoulder. A car about a mile infront of us had for some reason slammed right in the back of it and burst into flames. By the time we got there, it was pretty much fully involved. Witnesses told me that in the course of 45 seconds, it spread from a small engine fire to the whole car engulfed in flames.

Re: my car bursting into flames at the track fixed and ready to go... hot line came off the alternator, arched and burnt a hole through the power steering line and caught the oil on fire.
that pass wasn't my best run either... 11.8X... that was my first run in 6 months. hoping for 11.1's this friday!
