Don't expect that to be the norm. Put a halfway decent converter in the 408 car and the outcome would be much different.

It would have to be close in the 140mph - 170mph range. One would assume that those cars with that power output could trap 130mph with out and issue in around 10 seconds. The rolls are from 20 and 10 and 13-15 seconds later is when the mph text comes on. They were no doubt north of 140mph IMHO.

FWIW I was thinking the same thing until I did some ricer math...

ok another car that has 440whp with yank ss3600 stall from a stop or a slow roll he can pull me from any roll 50 and above i pull him good. Big loose stalls are not for roll street racing

Don't know what to say man. I didn't have my HUD on, and it was buried well past 150 on the speedo on race #2. I have 305/35ZR18 tires, with 3.73's and wound 5th gear till about 6400 RPM, so you figure the math. On race #1 it was also buried at 150, but didn't stay buried much after I hit the brakes.

I don't want to publicly mention who built the engine, as even though they build a great motor, their customer service was horrible.

I've got full drag suspension (so does he). I used to hook up even better than that when my DR's were new. Most people are like you and once north of 500 to the wheels, they spin everywhere. I didn't figure with my power level that I would hook so well either, but none the less, I do. (Heck, my Formula in my sig spins EVERYWHERE and it doesn't have nearly the same power)

Here's a few other links to runs my car has done at a roll or dig in 1st gear

I spun pretty bad in the first race. Also, I don't spray until it's hooked up. The first race was a 10 mph kick, IIRC. That was a little low for me. The second race was a 20 kick and my tires were warmer (from spinning in the first race) so I hooked better.

As far as the speeds, I think the "max speeds" listed are a little optimistic. The first race was probably 150 - 155 and the second race was over 140. I don't think my car will go much more than that w/o hitting the rev limiter (3rd gear). I'm running 28 inch M&Hs with a 3.73 gear. Also, I lock the converter @ 110 mph, so no slippage above that speed.

Still, a good run for both of us. No breakage and no Po-Po.

Nice Video Ben. Good to see a great race between you two. For those that don't know the extent of both cars, the run looks like two stock cars going at it. I'd rather have a race that I loose by a fender then win by two cars. Its just that much more enjoyable.

BTW - For the others that have posted. I have PERSONAL been in the LS1 and hit the nitrous at a low speed. It does hook a lot better then most of the cars I have ever been in.
