Okay, maybe it doesn't have to compete with the latest Speilburg film, but to go so far as to call it a "good video", I cannot.

It was good to see two cars go at it (as always), as the cars definatly were potent. Not disputing that at all. It's just when the potential to have a much better video made, especially with the potential of two very powerfull cars like this, it just gets me fired up.

That, and the Camaro driver couldn't shift worth sh*t!

You got one un-lucky T-56 then. Countless guys are making 500+ RWHP in their stock T-56's with no issues.

I've almost got 100,000 miles on my stock T-56 in my 614 RWHP Camaro in my sig, and its never had any issues (and its track driven at least a half dozen times a year with slicks). My Formula and its 441 RWHP also is the stock T-56 with 109,000 miles and its still going strong as well. Granted I don't power shift, but the T-56's are good to WAY past 400 RWHP. The older T-56's in the 93-97 cars have shown to hold up to 750 at the wheels with no issues.

The LS1 T-56's are not to the strength of the LT1 T-56's (one was made in Germany, the other in Mexico).

I guess anything can happen no matter how strong the transmission is. Driver error/non-error plays a huge role. I can see the driver in that vid being cautious and not shifting hard having new found power. I guess I was the same way. Soon after though I was beating the **** out of my stock t56 with over 700rwhp cause I didn't care anymore. I've never had any kind of sticky tire on the car however. Trans was perfectly fine up until I upgraded.

This guy can bang them gears though. Stock T56 too.

I agree I have a uncle with the almost EXACT SAME SET UP your Camaro has hes at 12psi bone stock trans bone stock 10bolt. He makes 590rwhp and doesnt beat the car but also doesnt shift a slow as the guy in that video but its holding up just fine.

Off topic isnt is true LT1 cars have there trans's from borg warner and all the ls1 6speeds are junk compared to them? My lt1 never had any problems with the trans I had a 383 ported lt4heads small cam and a 150+shot.
No probs here either

Well, in theory "yes" anything could happen. A totally stock engine with no modifications and low miles can just blow up. But its not likely, and not probable. Same is true with the transmission, and how it broke on you with the little power you made to brake it.

Yes, as I stated above, for the LT1 years, the T-56's were made in Germany, and the LS1 T-56's were made in Mexico. If you look in other boards for LT1's and checkout their transmission forum, you'll hardly ever find people having issues. Even guys with my power level or even more power than me. Take one look in LS1tech's transmission forum and you'll find it flooded with people having issues. I wouldn't go so far as to call the LS1 T-56's "junk", but they are definatly of much lesser quality than the LT1 T-56's.

There is someplace (they may or may not be a sponser on here anymore) down in Florida I think, that can fabricate the bell housing and everything needed to make an LT1 T-56 work/fit into an LS1 car. That would seem to be the best way to go IMO.
