Default Joshua Bybee, don't buy!

Well recently I bought a hood and airbox from member evilz06, joshua bybee. I bought the hood under the impression that it was in excellent condition, and it was to come with an airbox (good condition), fram filter (new), and k&n filter (used). I noticed he had a high post count, and good trader feedback, so I felt safe with the done, I couldn't have been more wrong.

I never received the K&N filter.

Now I will show you what i received:

An airbox in "good condition" (more like fair condition, and looks like a 3rd grader tried glueing it together)

An "excellent condition" hood (cracked twice, covered in pine sap, it has been repainted and the paint ruined, also see the bees nest inside)

Also, the "new" fram filter I received is covered in dirt on both sides, making it unusable.

His response to the situation:

"I don't believe you that the hood is cracked."

"I didn't want the oil from the K&N to wreck the hood so I just didn't send it"

"The fram is new I never used it"

"The airbox has never been reglued"

Now what kind of seller is this? His only way to solve this problem is "YOU pay to ship me the hood back and I will refund your money minus the shipping when the hood is in my hands".

More like "you ship me the hood and I will sell it to someone else and rip them off, and then never give you your money back".

He ran in circles on the conversation, from telling me he knew the guy who he bought the car from when it was new, to telling me he bought the car off of ebay and had it shipped to him.

Like I said before, if I save one member/person from being ripped off by this guy, my thread will be well worth it.

Well now that I blew off some steam, now on to my situation (which I need some help with):

I got the airbox farily clean, and used some plastic shiner to make it look decent. I used JB weld to reconnect the rubber seal, and overall it looks decent, besides the superglue runs sticking out like a sore thumb.

The hood I have not tried cleaning yet, I will get to that in time. I was quoted $500-$600 to fix and paint the hood, does that sound reasonable? The guy painting it is a relative that knows what he is doing, and has the proper tools and paint booth (he has fixed the rust on my dad's truck and it looked new, and he also repaired deer damage on my cousin's car, which also looked new afterward).

I had to buy the fernco piece to go from the TB to the MAF, but I am still trying to figure out what the little rubber piece between the airbox and maf is. Does anyone know or have a photo of it? I need to locate one, or something similar to take it's place in order to hook this airbox up.

I am going to order a new K&N, since I know I will never see the one i paid for.

Overall, I am going to get this project done and looking good, it is just going to hurt the wallet more than it should have.
