Purchased a gto ls1 oil pan from hawks performance on ebay for 250$ shipped he accepted my offer. After receiving it i was busy with other stuff and didnt see it had a corner broke off right near the oil passages till a year later when working on the project. hawks performance on ebay said it was passed his ebay return policy so he wouldn't let me return it but you could clearly see in the ebay posting pics that a corner was broke off or missing and that the description didn't advertise it. So they had to have posted it on ebay or didn't see the corner was broke off. It may still be fully functional. The corner thats broken off does have a bolt hole. They must've pried it off before removing the last corner bolt. See pics for the damage. I can't find there stuff in my ebay purchase history as it only lets me go back to 2019 and not 2018 or id upload pics of the ebay ad.

 

You notice the part is damaged that you didn't immediately inspect upon delivery and now you expect them to accept a return a year later so you post negative feedback? Geez... Accept some accountability!

 

A good boat or aircraft welder could build that back up fairly easily.. then it would have to be checked on a flat table to make sure it will seal.

 

That's 100% on you for not checking it on arrival.

Take responsibility for your mistake. A year later you want to return something you didn't bother to inspect on arrival, no wonder Hawk's wouldn't take it back.

Hopefully, it can be welded and repaired.

 

This would have been resolved had you acted in a timely manner. Let's not even pretend Hawk's would not have helped you. These type of posts just make people like you look helpless.

 

Man it isnt my fault. It was a year long project the oil pan was purchased and stored in garage. Hawks should have listed that it had a broken corner in the ad. After finding this out a year and half later was swapping motors and seen the oil pan had a broken corner. I was able to find his ebay ad under the 2 year ebay purchase history and the ebay sales picture you could see slightly where the corner was broken. i had took photos of the ad then sent the seller a message regarding this. He said sorry ebay return policy was 30 days and nothing he could do about nor I. I asked to send it back get refunded whichever just the the ad didnt list the oil pan had a broken corner where one bolt should be. A pretty big mistake or bad advertised part if you ask me. Though i dont need glasses it was my first time looking at the oil pan i purchased it for my buddy thru my ebay account that i have and went to see as the ad didnt have a non functional oil pan listed. People like me keep people like others safe from stuff like this. The corner broken off was where the oil pressure ports are and 60lbs of oil pass thru those passages. You would think before listing it theyd have mentioned it in the sales ad. A broken corner where a bolt goes thru is a pretty damaged part. I explained myself regarding this part was purchased and stored in a garage as it was a 2 year project swapping motors on a gto that had a hole in the oil pan.

Someone purchased it from me for 120$ shipped 2 weeks ago with that understanding. Cost 50$ to ship it and i got 70$ back. So maybe 180$ lost once this was over. You never know someone could run into the same issue its tough with used parts. Luckily they sell new gto oil pans complete with baffle just north of 300$. Nah they wouldnt even help me as 30 days had passed and this wasnt my mistake if youd list the ad correctly "BROKEN GTO OIL PAN" maybe the buyer would be aware. I sold it on here with more information then the person that sold it to me. Id say im good information.

Military station gets in my way with alot of my time and usually bothers me.

 

Moral of the story here is to inspect your parts when they come in. I understand life happens, my heads and cam swap took 10 months instead of a weekend like I was hoping and i still haven't touched the control arms and shocks I bought in late 2020 albeit they are brand new in the box I'm hoping nothing is missing lol. If it were me, as a seller, I would try to help in some way but I would not take a return on the item.

100% YOUR FAULT. The day it came in you should have inspected it. 3 days at the most. Stop crying.

Pisspoor excuse. I was 10 years active duty and had time to inspect what I bought the day it came in. You have to be some army grunt with that lack of brain mass and in the age range of the millenials to pass the blame to others for your short comings.

Get a better camera than the potato you used to take them pictures also.
