Default I think i got ripped off.....

calys968 On April 17 I found a tread about a set of rims for sale (https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490704). I was interested in them and sent a PM to the seller. She said that she still had the rims but she was about to leave to Arizona. If I wanted to send a money order she would ship the rims when she got back from Arizona on the 28th. Or if I wanted I could do a money-gram money transfer and she would ship them out the next day before she left to Arizona.

She doesnt have a paypal account because she says she has herd to many horror stories. Everything sounded good and I rushed to money-gram before they closed. I sent the money and gave her a call and gave her the reference number. She said she would call me the next day with a tracking number. Yup you guessed it, No call So I have been trying to call since and no answer, I have left voicemails and callback numbers and nothing. Here is one of her PM's:

If you want to do an online money order you could use Moneygram. That would probably be the easiest way to handle this because I'm going to be leaving for Arizona in a couple days and I most likely won't be returning until the 28th. If we do a Moneygram I could ship the rims out before I leave. If you want to send a regular money order that's fine but unless it gets here before I leave I won't be able to ship them until I get back. There would be a $25 fee from Moneygram but I can knock it off the price of the rims.
I'm tempted to sign up for an account with Paypal but I have heard many horror stories about them so I'm going to wait until they have a better reputation.
I've sold on here and on Sonoranmusclecars.com and I've never had a problem. I can give you references if you'd like. Just let me know.

-Cambria

Its may 1st and still no rims.

Does anyone know her? Maybe you can talk to her abou this.
I dont know what else to do anymore....

Hope you get your money back, but I've heard of schemes where they say it will be a while to ship and just let you wait and wait until you take action. Most things require that inquiries or whatever action be taken within a certain time frame. So by making you wait, they take away your ability to get your money back. I've always used paypal and have only been burned once on there, but I got all my money back. I was burned with a money order and never saw one cent returned to me. With high price items, I always try to work something out where I give them a certain percentage to ship it and then the rest when it arrives. Good luck.

moneygram isnt worth a ****. my wife and i just got scammed using the same thing. it cant be traced, refunded, and no one can help you and the person that got your money knows that. thats how we got screwed. all i can say is im sorry that it happened to you, good luck with the rest of it, and let it be a lesson learned. never use wire transfer such as moneygram or western union. always use paypal, cashiers check, or money order. these can all be tracked and refunded.

I am now going through a similar situation, except I paid Stangkilr $315 for an LS6 intake and when it arrived, it was actually an LS1 intake! Here is the thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/494267-ls6-intake-ready-bolt.html if interested. I tried to contact him to let him know and he kept insisting that I didn't know what I was talking about, so I sent him pictures. So, what's he say? That's not the intake I sent you! Now, I've got to figure out how to prove that it is the same intake that he sent. God, why can't people be honest anymore! This seller also had a lot of posts and great feedback! I guess at least I received something, albeit a worthless POS, in return for my money. Best of luck to you!

Been through this before with supposedly a good member on this board. Check out these posts. They should prove otherwise.

I am not trying to be a dick, but if she came back on the 28th, today is only the first. Sometimes people don't always have access to the net, or maybe she had to stay longer. Good luck either way.

Sorry to hear about your experience. These boards do indeed attract some low lifes. I just paid for an Autometer Phantom 5" tach from a member and received some beat up Autogage p.o.s. in the box instead. Not much recourse in some of these situations with these scammers like game_over z28. Keep exposing them or these boards will become worthless because of lack of trust.

what i did before to get my money back, was i did a search on the town they lived in just type in a google or yahoo search and type town of xxxx sherriff and got the name of the local sherriff and then i threatened them that i have talked to them and told me that if they didnt send the product or the money back by the weekend(for example) that he would pursue it himself and take action. pretty much get first and last names of local officers/higher ups in the police and they will buckle under the pressure. if not its at least worth a try right???? this only helps if you have there address
