SRT T/A 1-29-2007

Sstingray 1/29/2007

I was just sending that first because I thought you were wanting to double check shipping to my zip. The shipping info is automatically (sent) with the paypal payment.

Thanks, J.R.

SRT T/A 1/29/2007

Thanks, J.R.

SStingray 1/29/2007

Thanks!!
If there is a tracking number, please send it and I'll watch for any hiccups along the way.

SStingray 2/01/2007

Tracking number available?

Thanks,

Tommy

I just received the cam and checked it. It is definitely no where near .581 lift. I'm assuming this was just an honest mistake and I would like to get this refunded ASAP. I need to buy a cam with the specs in your post.

Thanks,
Tommy

Please check out the link below to the photos. If it won't open for you I can send them to your e-mail. You can see the value I got which of course is multiplied by 1.7 to get actual valve lift. It's in the .228 to .560 range. I measured 6 lobes from each end and in the middle and the results are the same. It looks to be a good cam, but not what I want. Note:

The “.228” was a typo on my part and should have been “.558” which is obvious.

No problem, but in the return loop you should refund me first. I'll ship it on my FedEx account in the morning.

SRT T/A 2/6/2007

Sure no prob, so do you want me to paypal?

SStingray 2/6/2007

Yes. Just reimburse my paypal account with the 200.00 and I'll pay the return shipping costs.

SRT T/A 2/6/2007

that sounds fine, what was your paypal account address again?

SStingray 2/6/2007

(responded with my paypal address which is in his paypal account already, of course)

SRT T/A 2/7/2007

Payment sent

SStingray 2/7/2007

Transaction not posted

SRT T/A 2/8/2007

Alright i just figured out what happened, i sent the payment to 64630620462 on accident, but i've just canceled the payment and am now waiting for it to return to my account. it says it can take up to 3 buisness days but i've had it work alot faster. i'll send it to the correct address as soon as its back in my account.
J.R.

SRT T/A 2/8/2007

hey man i found the information on that cam. according to the invoice from MTI it is the C2 cam with those measurements and they installed it and tuned the car for it so i don't know why the lift is wrong. I guess maybe one of the guys at MTI made a mistake or your measurements are off but i'll have to figure it out. So i need you to send the cam back and i'll resend the money when it gets here.
I'm sorry to be changing the money first then cam thing we were doing but i would like to make sure that the guys at MTI made the mistake and it's not your measurements.
Sorry again and thanks in advance,
J.R.

Do you really think that after the run around you been giving me over the past few days that I going to leave you with the cam and the money? Measurements wrong? This is a very simple measurement. I do this for a living and my equipment is calibrated. This is the first time in well over 100 web transactions that I've been ripped off, but there really isn't anything cost effective that I can do about it. Enjoy your money pal. I'll be OK.

(I did recheck my height stand with gage blocks just to be sure someone hadn’t damaged it and failed to report it. I found it to repeat within +/-0.001” which is normal. But it’s not off by -0.021 and if the lift isn’t right who knows what the duration might be. Using this cam would be a roll of the dice)

SRT T/A 2/10/2007 (Latest and most compelling revelation!!! The cam is actually worth MORE with lower lift!!!)

I'm sorry you feel that way but i am not trying to rip you off. if i wanted to do that i would of just kept the money in the first place and not sent the cam. this is just the opisite of the transaction that we had in the first place. But if your really that nervous about it. just resell the cam and get your money back that way. Cams with lower lift sell better anyway because there usually more street able, as i'm sure you know. thats why i had no problem with it being smaller and just having to re sell after it was sent back, But yes it is your call so do as you like.
J.R.

Now he’s trying to state that it’s my decision NOT to get a refund. Yeah right. Of course, if he had any intention of sending the money he would have already done it instead of the ridiculous responses posted above. AND YES I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!…but there ain’t no way I’m trusting him to have the cam and the money.

I know that posting this isn’t going to cause him to do the honest thing, but it may save some of you others some grief. Lesson learned!!!

If I can't get a refund I don't see why this guy shouldn't make the bad seller list. The physical measurements prove that the cam was misrepresented. His responses are ridiculous and obvious stalling and double talk. Given the fact that the lift is off by 0.020+" the LSA and duration are also suspect. His own backward and forth responses show that he doesn't know what he sent. The bottom line is I have a cam that I can't even resell for any price because I don't know what it is and this guy has taken $200.00 of my "earned" dollars for absolutely nothing. He should back up his claim that he would not have a problem reselling it and refund my money. I can send it COD if there is any doubt that he would get his cam back after the refund.
