Hey guys, Just thought I would alert you all on a possible scam, or just an overal l bad experience with at seller here.

On Sept 21st, 2007, I came across a post by mybluez28echoes saying that he had a LT1 style SS spoiler for sale off a car he was parting out. I did not have the full amount at that time, so I pm'd him asking if hed take 2 payments for the spoiler. He agreed and I then send him half of the agreed price through paypal. He seemed very nice and communicated decently.

I asked him for a couple better pictures a few times, and was slow to reply but gave me a story that he was out of town and would send pictures when he comes back. Anyways.

Fast forward to the second payment. Here is the message he sent me on 10-16 after I paid him the second half.

One week later, I pm'd him and asked if he had shipped the spoiler yet, and If he had a tracking number for me. I then got this message

If you like I can simply refund your money, I do not want you to be get concerned or worried at all, so if you want let me know and I can simply refund your paypal payments.

I hope that "all those guys" that bought stuff from him was just a line he was using and they didnt get screwed like I did.

Anyways, after another week, he sent me a message asking If i wanted a refund. I said I would rather just have the wing, and if he could send it soon it would be appreciated. After a couple more days, he ignored my request, and refunded half of my money, and said he would refund the rest soon, he just didnt have enough money in his paypal account. Well, its been about 2 months now and nothing. He just logged in today even, and still no reply to any of my messages. It is not a ton of money, but it is the holidays and I could def use it to get my 2 year old daughter something for christmas.

 

After posting this originally, The guy contacted me. He may just be dragging this out longer. He said hes away from home again, and was logged in at a hotel. (that doesnt explain why he ignored several prior messages because it shows he logged in after the days i sent them)

He said hed refund my money if it was ok with me, and was waiting for confirmation that it was ok before he sends it. LOL Of course I want my money..just send it all ready. He said he will send it thursday over paypal if its ok with me, so I will give him this last chance to make things right, or a chargeback will be in his future.

Ill let you know if this guy clears things up come Thursday night!

Hi Matt, The spoiler will more than likely leave Monday as I'm out of town, will be back home saturday afternoon but it'll ship monday. Wow, what a scammer. Did YOU acctually get your money back though??? I still havent got mine.

 

A lot of things seemed fishy when I sold my SLP CME kit to him about a year ago. It took him 2 weeks to get a check to me. After I deposited it, I let it sit to make sure it would clear. Then I got a call from him saying he was sorry that teh check had bounced. He notified me before I found out from my bank. He then payed me through paypal with a credit card. Everything seemed fishy about this guy but I figured if I took some precautions, I wouldn't get scammed. He even wanted some stuff shipped to a different address close to him. I looked into it a bit and found out that he changes him ebay and paypal id often. I think I may still be able to pull his phone number, name, and address if anyone ever needs it. I'm not trying to bash the guy because overall the transaction was fair. He received my valance with ripped corners but I refunded him some money to get it fixed. He stayed in contact with me through text and phone but was a little slow on the internet. As he mentioned he does travel a lot and did notify me of that when we were communicating, which is why he gave me his phone number.

 

Bought a $1200 part from this guy a while ago, sent quick and even called to make sure everything is fine. Do not judge before you really know what's going on, that's just my opinion. I do know he's out of town a lot and he did mention that to me before I sent him a payment , just like "98RedM6" mentioned which is a positive side about side about this guy. I do have all his info but unlike others here, I would never give any info out and in this case I don't think you'll have a problem getting your money back.

If it takes months and you keep being ignored then something is wrong, I mean if the spoiler is $130 and you got some money back and if YOU made him two payments for it then I think it's fair that he refunds you in two payments as well, not saying it's fair to drag it kinda long but you're dealing with a really small amount here and I really don't think he's a bad guy.

As for loging in without reading/answering your messages, maybe someone else uses his account to surf LS1Tech !!! I have two brothers and everytime one of us log on to LS1 tech that computer AUTOMATICALLY logs into the site under my ID, if he's the only one who checks messages then to you it'll show as the ID did log on but maybe it's not personally him, he's got two brothers who one has a Camaro and the other has a firebird so maybe they log on to the site and it shows that way and you thought he's ignoring you.

Again, not trying to defend him but I really don't think he's scamming you, look at his feedback (Shoot, I don't think I left him a feedback yet) and wait till Thursday as you said, if he doesn't repay you then yeah you got a point.
By the way, about the Paypal they charge 2.9% , and if you sent him money then some of the money you sent was gone to paypal so if he's asking you about making a payment in the exact amount then that's FAIR because that's what he received. As a matter of fact if he's ASKING if that's ok with YOU, then that's a GREAT point on his part, he just wants to make sure you're ok with that even though it's a small amount.

Do not judge the guy yet and I really don't think he deserves to be on this bad form. Good luck, I'll call him now and notify him about this.

 

Just got off the phone with him, he'll call paypal or try to make his way to a computer to fix this immidiately, he's out of town and had bad signals, I had to call him on a public phone.

 

Thats great, I dont mind if he deducts the 2%. Already told him that. I just really need the money back. And also..it is fair that I make 2 payments because the time he is waiting for other payment he still has his wing and my money and is out nothing. BUT, if he is not going to ship me the wing, then he should immediatly have returned my money because now I am out something...he is up 130$ Not exactly Fair or right if you ask me.

Hi Bison160, first of all I apologize. Second of all check your buddy's paypal, payment was sent to you. Third : Why didn't you do a charge back????? If you didn't know, paypal is the safest way to pay online, and if you paid for something and didn't get it, just ask for your money back and BELIEVE me paypal will IMMIDIATELY get the money back to you and charge (Me in this case) with the funds you requested. I just didn't really think it would get to this, but again I admit the mistake and I apologize.

I had to stop at a local business and use their internet service after I got a call from my buddy to fix this immidiately, I'm going back home tomorrow and believe me some people DO mind if they don't get few bucks back, I wasn't sure if you're one of them, that's all. I got your second payment not on the 2nd as you mentioned, but on the 16th which is exactly two weeks later. Not complaining because as you mentioned here, I still have the spoiler but I think that if I ask you on Monday to give me an answer by THURSDAY which is only 4 days later (By the way, I was going to refund you that night if you would have got my message and responded) I think it's fair enough as I waited on your payment and you shouldn't make a big deal about this and try to make a bad name about me, check my feedback before you judge, I'm not out here to steal your's or anyone's money, I work my *** off and I respect others so "Screwing" someone with $65 isn't who I really am, you just misunderstood me.

Above all, I explained to you why I decided not to sell it at the end (It has a lot to do with not getting a payment a little faster and it sat and sat in my shop but again i'm not complaining) .There are sooooooo many cases and sales here on LS1tech that get cancelled by sellers or buyers ask for their money back and so on and so on, so come on now, let's not make a big deal out of $65 , I was late repaying you and I apologize, it's just that I'm not on the computer all the time and as justforparts mentioned and he was right, one of my brothers use this site to LEARN stuff and my id is logged on all the time so you thought I'm on but I actually wasn't, my brother doesn't check my messages it's non of his business and he knows it by now. I REFUNDED your money on the spoiler quickly, it was a whole different thing and if everyone on LS1tech would want to write about something he bought and GOT HIS MONEY BACK FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER then the LS1tech website would simply be full of this stuff, you decided to post all this here but you NEVER mentioned that I REFUNDED you, and by the way you need to kinda highlight this section from your post so everyone else can know :

I did get my money back tonight, Thanks, but unless you work for paypal or have stocks in them, I suggest you be more clear and prompt with your future sales. Paypal just got like 20 bucks for transactions where nothing was traded and all could have been avoided. Thanks again, and happy holidays.

 

Paypal's fee is 2.9% so they would have got $4.38 for a $130 payment, but since your first payment was refunded in full $65, the second one was refunded as $62.81 so paypal made $2.19 on my side and whatever is 2.9% of $62.81 whic is probably 2 bucks or so not $20. But that's no bid deal, I agree with what you said and happy holidays to you too, I should be back home tomorrow so write me if you need to tell me anything, I gotta go back on the road soon.

 

btw if no one caught on... he was sellin the same part to two people!! look at the dates when i paid him and when "bison160" paid him talk about being a Scammer!!!

I think you should just calm down. First off, I didn't judge anyone. I said our transaction went okay and I didn't fail to mention the damage of the valance on my part, it evidently happened in shipping. Also paypal doesn't always give you everyone's information. I'm not asking for anyone to say that I'm a nice guy by offering to give him your phone number or anything. My feedback on here and ebay speaks for itself. Looking back on it, I shouldn't have offered it to him. You're right. I have nothing against you. I offered to pay for the entire amount to repair the valance and you said the amount I refunded you would cover it. I was hesitant to complete the transaction because of the bounced check, a paypal account under another name, a different address than what you personally provided on the envelope you sent me with the check, and an unverified paypal account but like you said you payed immediatly through paypal. I'm no lawyer and I didn't advise him to take any legal action against you so I don't know why you feel so threatened. You came through for the guy so that's it.

 

Everclear4520 : looks like you;re pissed after his response, that's normal .
Have you ever met the guy and see where he works, what he does, what parts he has that he needs to sell? He works with a local salvage yard and he's got Camaros too, he always keeps himself busy with his toys and at some point he had 4 DIFFERENT SS spoilers that i myself saw 2 months after I bought something from him when I went to the Carlisle show , so if he tried to sell one to you and one to him that DOESN'T mean he was trying to sell the same one to both, get it right and again, DO NOT JUDGE HIM. I'm not his lawyer but I know him very well and he asked me on the phone to make sure I respond if he's not around.

In this case he ended up selling the camaro complete and he did tell bison160 about that (I think he said that to me but I might be wrong), but about your spoiler as he mentioned before, he just decided not to sell it at the end, it's his right and if you got your money back then what's ur issue? Late payment !! the guy is busy and I think it's a lot better to leave this section to have people report about people who STOLE or DIDN'T REPAY others, not that repaid them slowly even though it should be faster, but he apologized so what do you want?? Move on you seen to be a pain in the *** and I can see that here.

Look at 98redm6 response and learn, people want to make things right, even Bison160 said happy holidays to him, you're the only one who keeps trying to make a bad image about the guy. Shut da **** up and just move on, he's not on the computer now so I want to make sure someone is responding, I know the guy VERY WELL and he's not a bad guy, I know he sent you his number as he wrote above so u got a problem call him and be a man, otherwise just shut da **** up.
