Default Please help, need some advice / information.

I have an '06 5.3l Trailblazer.

It's in the shop (local dealer) and apparently has some internal 'damage' in at least one of the heads. No compression in #6 and low in another.

I'm looking at probably $2-3K to start, I'll know more Monday I guess.

My question is this; do I have any options to do something a little more 'special' if I throw another $2-3K at it? I checked around for prices on an LS1 / LS2 crate motor, but I think I'm looking at > $10K for something like that, and that's outside of my budget. I wonder if some other 'performance enhancements' should be considered while the motor is apart.

I've already upgraded much of the suspension and some more power would be nice if I'm throwing money at it anyway.

Thanks for the help.

Well if your looking at say $2500 to start and then add $2500 to it your at 5k... which is enough for a stroker bottom end

Throw a 408 into it your looking for an improvement in power. My 408 is $4474
A forged bottom end is a great place to start.

So your GM warranty is gone? You have over 36K miles on your TB?
