just curious has anyone here milled stock LS1 heads for better compression...if so what were your gains in hp, tq, and how much can you mill off these stock heads?

not yet, planning on doing mine soon, before i start putting the engine together! interested in seeing what people get though! r urs 241 casting heads?

i haven't even checked...but i just found a thread and a few people have done it but they said with all the work and new valves and titanium retainers and stuff like that...its better to just purchase aftermarket heads...cost about the same...i'm out here in WA. and there chargeing 45 bucks for milling but more depending on how much to mil...but i'm intrested in flow numbers and what some of these folks are proudcing with milled stock heads...

Milling will help, you will bump up ur hp and tq and deff increase your CR. Make sure you dont mill too much tho...otherwise...

check to see how much all will cost then compare with heads. make decision! $imple huh? I went with Patriot heads myself.....

How much you can mill and clear depends on the cam ur running.

It is generally accepted that you will gain about 2% hp/tq gain for every compression point you pick up.
