Default LS6 intake swap question

I am about to do the ls1 intake swap. Can I just shave the bottom of the intake with my dremel and use my coolant hoses that are already there instead of changing the hoses?

Yeah, by grinding the ribs off the the ls6 intake, making it flush with the bottom of the intake you can still use the stock coolant lines. If you do a search you could actually find the exact ones you need to shave off but I just did all of them. Just a little extra weight reduction

Dremeled the 1st one (mine)

Chiseled the 2nd one (a friend's)

Out of the two, I would recommend the chisel method. Took me all of 15 minutes. Took me almost an hour being careful with the Dremel.

Are new coolant lines expensive or a PIA to change?

You can get the line and the 2 rear plugs for around $40 new. The swap is easy though; it's just 4 bolts after the intake is off.
