Default noisy rocker!

I have a problem my 02 ss is making a loud ticking noise during cold starts and warm ups. I've figured out that its cylinder #2 intake rocker its the one directly under the oil fill neck is there any thing I could do to see if I could stop this with out pulling the covers it stops once the motor reaches operating temp. Thanks for the help!

That noise is common on later LS-1 motors.I don't think there is anything you can do so don't worry about it as long it goes away when it warms up.

depends on hte noise really, it could be piston slap and thats what a lot of people get on this site, or you could have bad lifters that make nose.

post up a video of the car making noise. its too hard to just describe the noise. and if you hear it in the area where the heads are, lifters are there.

just so you know i had a f150 a year ago that had bad lifters, when you did a cold start it was like a fast tapping metal on metal noise. and went away as soon as the engine was warm. if thats the case it very well could be lifters.
