Default Loud Ticking

I was driving home when all the sudden I got the wonderful SES mod. out of no where. the light stayed solid but then after a few seconds started blinking, then went to solid again for a few minutes, and then blinked again. then back to solid. I have oil. and then all the sudden I started to notice a loud ticking from under the hood. it is rpm driven, but there is no power loss. idle is rough but doesn't stall or anything like that. any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

blinking means misfire.....bad...
might have broke something...
what other mods do you have??
do you have a cam???-maybe a broken spring
which could cause the valve to drop down(if the broken spring shifted)which means you have new dents on a piston(which would explain the ticking...or smacking)

Dont start the engine up till you can open up the valvecovers and inspect for broken parts...
give us more details...pm me if you need to...I'm usually pretty good at this kind of thing.

Got a M-6? Miss shift?
Bend push rods & valves real quick that way.

Check your spark plugs man. I had the same thing.... Looked for the worst and wasted a lot of damn time. Pulled my valve cover and EVERYTHING .. turned out to be a loose spark plug.

With stock internals you're not likely to damage your drivetrain unless you just dog the **** of your car.

Good luck!

thanks guys, thank goodness for a warrenty..... the codes I got are P0171,P0174,P0304,P0304. which indicated 02 sensors in both banks, and also a misfire in cylinder #4. not sure about the valvetrain just yet. it is going in today to find out. but the spark plug was changed out and still I have the ticking and all codes remain. thanks for your help and i will keep you posted....
