Smile Mating LS1 to old gen bell housing/tranny

I'm wondering if the LS1 engine block with flywheel/clutch is a direct mate to the older chevy bell housing with Muncie tranny. If so I'd be putting this in a 73 Camaro F-body...Are there serious motor mounting concerns to be aware of ? Other concerns ?

It is common to use the TH350 and 400 behind an LS1. The bolting is different, but five bolts do match up. To use an old style torque converter a 3/8" spacer is needed, so I would assume that the input shaft on the muncie will be too short to engage the crank. Try posting a question in the transmission section. I am sure you'll get more responses in there.
As far as mounting goes, you can buy adapter plates that allow the use of traditional SBC motor mounts. There is lots of information in the Conversions and Hybrids section.
