the diff between lq4 and ls1

Default the diff between lq4 and ls1

hey guys I have a complete lq4 and a extra set of ls1 with comp 918 springs and was planing on getting a set of harland sharp rockers.I was also going to have them ported but I don't know if the pushrods from the lq4 heads will work or maybe the lq4 heads are better all together.So how about it I know the ls1 heads are alum and the lq4 iron but what about the valve's ,the chamber cc will they raise the compression ratio and which one would flow better? Any info would be great thanks in advance

first off whats the casting number on the LS1 heads? Im not sure if they will bolt straight up. 241's are the good ones.

the stock lq4 head is better than ANY fbody ls1 head. they flow more but have larger chamber, if anything install the 918's on the 317 after u have them milled for more compression. stock chamber for 317 is 71cc

I think the ls1 heads are 853 not sure about the lq4

317 heads are aluminum. If they are iron then they must be the older LQ4 heads

I take it from this you have the Iron Heads. Look for a set of Aluminum ones, some L92's will work good.

i would raise the CR with pistons instead of getting heads with a smaller combustion chamber. you want a big combustion chamber because it will prevent knock to a point.
