Default ls6 cam in lq9?

hi new to ls1 tech, moved over from silveradoss.com......looking to do a cam swap in my 05 silverado ss lq9 6.0l.......i have a kn intake tuned with hp tuners and a nitrous express wet shot with purge and all the goodies curently running a 75 shot and about to upgrade the intake manifold to a bbk ssi intake to be safe with nitrous back fire and add a few hps but looking into doing a cam at the sam time thinking about a stock ls6 cam and possible ls6 heads down the road........what do you guys think any help would be great
365awdhp on juice and a sold 304awdhp on the motor with almost 400t on the spray and 339tq off it im lookin to get all i can on the motor without getting crazy, the trans will only take so much just looking to get my truck to the point where she moves quick off the spray and hangs on the street with it so thank guys and i look foward to getting to know my way around this site

id say go with a bigger cam..ls6 cam is pretty small..and mill ur heads and ull get just about the same flow as ls6 heads...

A ls6 cam will help some but not a whole lot considering you have the LQ9. If you are looking to keep the stock sound and drivability with just a little more power I would go for it. If you are looking for more power and a better sound I would go bigger.

Pretty sure you have an LS1 cam in there right now, and with your cubes an LS6 cam wouldn't be worth the time, effort and money IMO. People are putting MS4 cams in stock 346 cube LS1s (yeah, bad decision for some) so putting an LS6 cam in your 364 isn't much. Maybe something in the 220s duration would be good?

And if you have 317 heads right now I think those flow just as good as LS6 243 heads. Also, you have a larger bore and higher compression in that LQ9 so not sure how LS6 heads would work there.

And I think most LQ4/LQ9 guys go with L92 heads as proven performers. If you don't get any more help here ask the question in either the Gen III or Gen IV internal engine section below \/
