Stock, normal off the line cars...

At best were low 14 sec cars. Some with good drivers were in the high 13's, but track prep and tires left a lot to be desired.

The COPO's, Yenko's, ECT could be anything from a mid 11 to high 13's depending on Combo and driver.

A good friend bought a NEW 67 Camaro 396/375 in 67. It ran 14.16 stock, but most cars back then responded very well to Mods. Before long he was running 10.80's, but it wasn't stock anymore.

as mentioned most stock 67-69 camaros didn't run much faster than low 14s to high 13s bone stock. Of course, just like today with tweaking, you can achieve a bunch! Hot rod had a story published a few years back on a copo 427 that ran 11s on 8" slicks with open exhaust after tweaking by dick harrell that included headers, carb swapping, and valve lash adjustments. The pure stock drags held every year usually give a good indication (with exceptions) of what the car ran factory stock without any mods.

Yeah, but it's harder to find a stock first gen than a first gen that runs 11s nowadays.

Whoever said the 92 is a fourth gen is a moron- I don't care if his name is Bob Lutz or John DeLorean. The 92 was built on the thirdgen platform. The 93+ has a different chassis, motor, suspension, interior... you name it, it was change. The 92 is absolutely NOT a fourth generation Camaro.

LOL! Who at GM did you speak with that said the '92 was a 4th gen? What a MORON. The "Generations" are based on chassis setups. With each major change in chassis, it is the next generation. External body panel updates do not count, its just what changes under the sheetmetal and plastic.

3rd gens look like the "IROC" type Camaros, boxy looking.

4th gens started in '93, and carried the overall look into 02.

haha my buddy has a 92. Its a 350 SBC with a 700r4 trans...not an lt1...not a 4l60e (yes i know 93 had the 700r4) AND its identical to the 91 and earlier body style. There is no debate, its a freakin 3rd gen. Your buddy who told you is mistaken or perhaps he was drunk when you asked him.

Yeah, your GM buddy is either mistaken, or is a complete moron.
