Question Max tire size i can fit???

I got a 02 trans am with 17" rims 275/40-17 stock

i am looking at the oe creations 19" zo6 rims 10'' wide
just wondering what off set i need to get a good fit.
I want too stay with the 275 width but i want to put wide tires on the back. Something like a 335/30-19, or at least a 305. Anyone out there know what i can put on? I want to stay with the zo6 19's. I seen a 2001 mustang last year with a set of 335's. Also how hight can i go? Stock is around 25.5''

alot of people use 315s on a 17x11 or 10.5" rim

so the 305s should fit fine. doubt the 335s would fit without significant massaging.

as for backspacing....seems the 17x11 rims use a 56mm offset...

315 will fit on 10.5, 11 perfectly.

as far as clearance, a 19x10 will be a really close fit, you will have to bang the inner fender quite a bit.

not any worse than a 17x11, and it depends on the tire

i ran zr1 17x11s with 315 nitto DRs for 3 yrs and never had any clearancing to do. they never rubbed even in hard corners.

although when i put my nitto 555 street tires on, they rubbed in one spot. and only in hard corners.

While installing the wheels, you can't lift the whole car up at once. You have to put front
and the rear on seperate. The differential lowers and I wide wheel will hit the inner fender.

On the 17 x 11 you want the 50mm. Thats the perfect offset. I would know since I have been running that combo since april 2003.

17x11 with Eagle Gs-D3 tires no problems at all. ^ I want to say that the off set is 50mm. I rolled my fender as well to avoid and damage to the tire and body of the car.

They actually just hit the bump stops.( I just cut mine off ) I have 17x11 with 315/35/17 they did rub a little at first on the passenger side fender because the factory bushings were so worn out, but an adjustable panhard rod fixed that.

My new Rims are 19" with a +56 offset,10'' wide. I want to put on a set of 305/30-19s but all tire companies want a 10.5"-a 11.5" rim for that tire. Is it a big deal to put the 305s on a 10" wheel????????????????

If there is going to be an issue, it'll be the tire being squeezed on the inside rims of the wheel and you'll get a funky wear pattern down the center of your tire at full inflation out of it. If that happens, you'll be sol in a road or ralley course because of lack of tire patch contact.. I have less than no idea what that would do to your 1/4 mile timeslips. But you can cut the life expectancy of the tires in half, at least. How do I know? I made that mistake with a TransAm once. ..just once.
