2000 firehawk rear end?
I bought a rear end that I was told was out of a 2000 firehawk.
just curious if they are any better than say a ten bolt from a simple Z28.
Main reason I bought it was the rearend i have now is really making some serious noises, which is to be expected with over 170,000 miles.
before i say what i paid for it, what is it worth in all reality?

It will have a different gear ratio than the 2.73s you have now. But other than that it's all the same.
I've bought and sold a few stock 10 bolts around $200-250.

well of course he told me it from a firehawk, I did ask after all. it's not like he talked it up at all and made it sound super special. I paid 250 for it which is what I have seen z28 rear ends go for. so being that I needed one anyways, I bought it. i'm not someone that will buy something because of what I was told it was something special.
I don't see how with "that" amount of miles it would be less that what I paid for it, don't think I mentioned it's milage.
BTW, it's a complete rear end. all I have to do is unbolt my lca's and bolt this one in, bleed brakes and I'm done. from what I see now, it was worth what I paid.

I knew the guy paid too much, every time I deal with santa everything cost a plate of cookies and glass of milk.

you could get the vin number the car is from and call slp to see if it had the option.
you could also try turning one wheel and see what direction the other spins. if they both spin in the same direction, its an auburn. if they spin in opposite directions, its a torsen.
