I asked this before, but never went through with it.
Should I do it or not?
If I did, it would not be a true flush. I would just change the crap in the pan, and change the pan over to one with a drain plug, then drop the fluid one more time.
I just don't want to lose the trany, it would really suck.
What would be more safe? Leave it be or drop the **** out?
Drop the pan and change the filter (clean the magnet too and put it back where it came from). Replace with Dexron Fluid. Its only harmful to do this when the fluid is black. That basically means the trans is toast anyways because the clutches are now part of the fluid. As far as I've been told in school Ford, Chrysler, and Dodge don't recommend flushing anymore its best to regularly change the pan and filter at specified intervals. I need to visit a dealer and see what they say about that.
