Default First drive with problems, questions inside.

As alot of you know i finished my swap(01 ls1/m6 in 98 v6/auto). I got it aligned and the exhaust put on so i went for my first drive. Everything was good until i took one of my friend for a ride. I punched it hard a few times. Now when cruzing i get vibration from rear it feels like. No matter how fast im going, i can feel it. Hard to explain, but feels like the car is tripping over its self. I have a steel(small) driveshaft that was sent with the motor. Could i have twisted it from flooring it?

Next question: I am using my battery from the v6. I think it has 850 cranking amps 700 cold. Does the v8 need a stronger one. The manual says to hold the key no longer for 15 seconds for starting the m6 cars. I have to hold my key right at 15 seconds for the starter to spin but then it spends to long and makes that nasty sound.

And one more thing; this motor hauls ***!
Thanks

You might have snapped your tranny mount. I did that and I thought I f$%#ed my rear end up. Causes a hellacious vibration, sometimes it feels like its coming from the rear. Is it whining? Whining would point towards the rear end actually being jacked up, and you'd definitely hear it. The driveshaft might be bent, someone else should chime in on how to figure that out....my best guess would be hold a yardstick up to it, or any other long enough solid straight line flat edged object. Since you changed out the DS, you might want to check your U joints. Not a rear end guy, so others will have to chime in on that note. Good luck figuring that out!

That would suck if i blew the rear on my first drive. I hope its just the sorry DS they sent me.

Check the trans mount. Also flywheel can break under heavy load and cause a lot of vibes.

make sure the bolts on the driveshaft are tight. im new to the ls1's but i had a mustang and when we changed my driveshaft one of the bolts came a bit loose, just enough to make a subtle vibration. if its loose wrap da bisch in some teflon tape and bolt it down...just an idea something else to check out
good luck
