Default Slp maf

I have a 2000 ws6 and I know a guy that is selling a slp lid, K&N filter and a slp maf for 200. I was wondering if a slp maf is worth getting? Right now my car is completely stock.

I'd skip the MAF. Buy the lid seperately, keep a paper filter in it for now. You'll save money. Guys and gals are running great #'s at the track with paper filters and stock MAFs.

I have a K&N, but I got a deal on the kit and have used K&N filters on many vehicles with good success. Others avoid them and have gotten the filter oil on the MAF causing their car to run poorly.

My advice is to buy a used lid (shop around on here and Ebay), and save money for a set of Longtube headers, Y pipe, and catback.

A lid and catback exhaust will make you happy for a while. A bit more air and a better exhaust note. Enjoy, and ask many questions.

Some people have good luck with them, some don't. I'd say skip it and start with basic mods

The SLP maf's are over rated. I got a FTP 85mm lid and just a Delphi 85mm maf. They are alot cheaper, and work just as well.

I got one on my 2000 Z28, but it came with the car. I got the SLP lid and MAF. Everything seems all good.

THe stock maf will support up to about 500 or hp. My people loose hp with the SLP maf and they are a huge pain to tune with later on..

completely agree!!!!! the maf is a waste of money. like JosephIV said stick with a paper filter and just do simple bolt ons... i recommend hooker headers... they fit PERFECT!!!!

Get the lid, ditch the maf.
