what is the ideal diff between hp and tq?
on a reg engine that say..redlines at 7k rpm, if one could just magically give hp and tq,
what would u give more, hp or torque? and how much more becomes negative?

thanks alot...that cleared **** up for me.
so basically..a typical ls1 would greatly benefit from some extra RPMs, since i see qutie often more tq than hp to the ground...
it shows a tractor making 1000ft at the wheels at 1200RPM, and a old cobra engine making much much less..but spinning at 5600rpm.
they ended up having the same hp. so the ls1, for example..would benefit from being spun higher.
this would explain the new ls7 rumored to make 500hp, with 6.0l but spinning to 8k rpm.

you should get as close to your hp peak them dump the clutch
is that true? i mean,
lets ignore the traction issue for a second.
if you would hook up no matter what,
would it be better to launch from peak torque or peak hp and why?
ls1 peak torque = 4400 peak hp =5700 i read
the best performing stall converters are ~4400

Notice your horsepower curve has nothing to do with it in any particular gear.
As far as cars are concerned, horsepower is how long you can hold on to any given gear before shifting to a higher gear (which greately reduces the torque available).

Repeat after me. "It is better to make torque at high rpm than at low rpm, because you can take advantage of *gearing*."
