Default Next Mod(s)

Hello!!

Now its time to do something with the car. But i dont know what to do.

Now i have
Slp suspention kit
Slp Lt Headers.
Slp Maf
Slp Lid
Slp loud catback
BBK Throttle
New tires.

Maybe a new cam and ls6 intake and a converter. Or?

Thinking to "waste" 2000-3000 on the mods.

next and most important is get stall converter. Recommend TCI 3500 super street fighter, then TR 224/224 112 cam with springs, if still willing to spend then get intake manifold or whatever else someone recommends.

What kind of horses are you looking at? Do you want to get your heads ported? If so then you might as well change out the cam/valvetrain at the same time since the heads are off already. I think a good H/C package will run you about 3500. A lot of people are having great successes with the TR224. An LS6 intake is a good mod for '98-00 years, as the '01/'02's already have them.

I noticed you mentioned a 'verter, which means you have an A4. If you haven't put an aftermarket stall in yet, do so now. Also get a shift kit(transgo) and a trans cooler(b&m makes a good one). Make sure you can plant the power to the ground, street tires only grab so much. Try for Nitto's.

I figured it would be more than that but it all depends on what you get. LS6 Intake is 350-500+ depends on where you get it and new or used. Converters can get 500-1000 depending one which one (I am very happy w/ my TCI SSF 3500 BTW) and a with a cam comes all the hardware (springs pushrods etc.) That will cost between 600-1000 depending oh how much you want with it unless you go with the hotcam kit which I believe is 399?! It can be done depending on what you want. Also, installation if you dont do it yourself but with those parts its not that hard

the coloniel posted something like you could get a tci TC for 500 or so, an ls6 intake plus coolant plugs should cost around 350-400 depending on new or used. then TR is having a cam/spring sale and you can pick up a new cam and springs for about 500 (depending on cam and valvetrain choice of course )

yea...def go for the converter....and yea i was the one the colonel corrected about the converter, the TCI would keep you well within your budget. jrp's suggestion is great, those prices are damn good. with the tc, the intake and the cam you should be layin down some damn good times. now u just have to slap on some nittos and call it a day

Ls6 intake is only going to get you about 7/8 HP.
H/C would be sweet but figure on needing a 12 bolt too.

as long as he doesn't launch real hard for a little while he should be alright, until he can get a rear diff cover from ta or something along those lines to strengthen it up a little. a4's don't slam as hard on the rear end as m6's do. thats why you see less a4's with 12 bolts that are still runnin low 12's to mid 11's. eventually yes he will need a 12 bolt if he does some serious drag racing and he goes over 400rwhp on an a4. JMHO.
