Default Normal noises, please respond!

Coming from mostly performance imports/etc, this being my first LS1, I am not used to this much noise from the drivetrain. I've been around V8's and cars in general long enough to know what is "bad", and what to listen for, but I'm just wondering if maybe we could get together a list of "normal LS1" drivetrain sounds, might be something worthwhile to have since a lot of questions seem to be , "I hear a XXXX, is that bad..?"

What I've noticed:
2500-3000 rpm under light load "whoosh" from the engine
low rpm takeoff gear "whine" from rearend (similar to other LS1 powered cars I've been in)

I'm sure there are others, but sitting at my desk right now i can't think of them.

Please contribute!

You will hear the AIR System if it is still functional.(Sounds like a POS vacuum).

The rear whines, not too bad but niticibly no matter what.

The interior creeks and pops.

The lifters tick.

When cold, the pistons slap.

That about covers the normal.

And of course the fuel pump humms.

All of this is to let you remember that you are driving a GM.

^^^^Pretty much spot on but my rear is still relatively quiet (fingers crossed) and the sewing machine valvetrain sound is stiff springs mated to agressive cam lobes.....My valvetrain stock was pretty quiet btw. Piston slap is hit or miss.....some have it and some don't but it is more common in the later cars.

Mine has 19k, so I'm completely with ya, but the rear definitely makes noise. Honestly not THAT different from the diff noise my STi would make.
