Default Code p0420

I got this code a little while back after driving my car for the first extended period of time after a winter semi-storage. The same gas was in the car for probably 2.5 months. The readout said:

-Catalyst efficiency low-bank 1
-Catalytic converter defective (failure due to #2,3 or 4)
-Engine misfire or running condition
-Large vacuum leak
-Engine Oil leakage into exhaust-valve guide, seals, piston rings.

I cleared the code Because I found this to be impossible and retarded. Car runs excellent. I changed the oil about 75 miles before this code illuminated. It illuminated after cruising at 40 with about 5% throttle for a while.

I just chalked it up to bad gas.

Any thoughts?

I agree

I just went to the dealer and confirmed that its a 10/120,000 warranty on all 00-02 LS1 cats. But since I cleared the code i have no evidence. Fortunately i have a year and a half for it to reappear.

I had my driver's side cat replaced about six months ago by the dealer.
