I've read a lot of articles about swapping cams and lifters. Hydraulic Lifters have a oil hole in the side of the lifter. The lifters install in trays and the hole can face in two different direction. My question is what direction should the holes face? The valley or toward the pistons? Does this even matter? Articles don't point out the necessity of referencing the holes in a particular directions.

I dont think it matters. I just made sure they were all facing the same way when i did my build.
