Formulas can look really good, theres a picture on here of a silver formula with z06 wheels thats lowered and that thing looks sick, it doesn't matter what kind of car the ls1 is in, its going to be pretty fast.

BlackBowtie -> Amen. I'm in the same position with mine. I've got a blk 2002, manual door locks, manual windows, manual seats, cloth interior, all black badging... but I trap at 109.4.

I have one more thing to add, Tell your so called friends that at least you don't have a dime a dozen Firebird or Trans Am. Because Formula's are the rarest of all the Birds. Approx 2100 built in `98 alone.

LOL. I'm with 02phoenix on this one. Take them for everything they are worth.
I've pretty much decided if I get a firebird down the road, I'm getting a formula. Just to be able to do that. I already do that with my Z! You guys would love it around here in VB, these guys are absolute suckers!

My Formula handles equally modified F-bodies quite well, I bought it because I didn't want to pay for leather and appearance stuff. If I didn't work for a Pontiac dealer I would have opted for a stripped Z28.

Just plan ahead and think of a few comments to bust on their cars and then tell them they should have no problem racing you for money then.

Man this is the whole reason I bought the plain Formula, I wanted the sleeper. In fact my plates say 'SLEEPIN'. I love it when people think that I am just a plain Firebird. When it's all said and done I plan on going the route that 'Colonel' over here has gone. Put in a killer sleeper cam with good flowing heads and just run through a full exhaust to stay quiet as anything. Then you start talking about being rare; my wife has one of the rarest 4th gens made. A 2000 Formula WS6; now how many of those do you see on a regular basis? Espcially true ones!

You're definitely right about those ws6 formulas, BriGuy, there's one here in the EPT, red, very nice.

sleeper

You should use this to your advantage!

When I paint my car, I'm taking of the z28 logos. This is part of the reason

I had a t/a and traded for a formula I hated the cheap leather in the T/As

I've often thought of taking off the exhuast tips and just run dual turn downs. And then take off the door badges, but then the WS6 wheels on mine give it a little less sleeper look..Oh well.

QUOTE: "Okay I am a very proud owner of a 98 A4 Formula. Everytime I go to the local hang out place with nothing but firebird owners I always get bashed. Everyone says that the Formula is the slowest firebird every built".
__________________________________________________

Your friends are right ... The LS1 Formula has about 50 HP less than the much faster Trans-Am model.

Your friends are wrong on one point ... The 98 Formula is not the slowest firebird ever built. There were a few 82-84 Formulas with the 305 engine that were just slightly slower.

Tell your friends that even though you own one of those inferior Formulas, it will still run the 1/4 mile about 2 tenths of a second quicker than a V6 Firebird. It should be faster than a 6 cyl .. Hell, it's got at least 15 HP more.
