Default is the trans go shift kit easy to install??????

the website i got it from says its real easy to install but now that i got it in the instructions are makin it look like i gotta take the tranny apart????? help me out please thanks Gilbert

Yeah i was thinkin aboout doing a rebuild myself may you could post this or th moderators could move this thread into the automatic trasmission forum. You would prolly get alot more feedback and some of the sponsors will chime in.

I'm pretty sure the shift kit is actually above the valve body. You'd need to drop the pan and take out like 15 bolts that hold in the valve body. The bolts are different lengths, it's very messy and the bolts will need to be torqued down to a specific ft/lb. Maybe 7 ft/lbs, i can't remember for sure, the pan needs to be torqued down too. It might be a bit complicated for some people, i don't have a torque wrench so i didn't bother.

The kit comes with a video. Basically if you can replace your own valvesprings in car then you should be able to do this. It is time consuming and VERY messy. If that is above your capabilities then definately take it to a pro.
