Default Mods for better gas mileage in 07 Tahoe 5.3

I have an 07 Tahoe w/ 5.3 and the active fuel management. I drove it cross country and i only got about 18 at best. looking into a K&N or Airaid type of intake system, and maybe a hypertech programmer, or one of the many other programmers. Anybody have experiace with any of these products or any other advice. Thanks

Selling it and buying a honda would probably be the best thing you can do for gas milage.

I don't know what to tell ya but something doesn't seem right here..... I made a trip in my 99 Z-71 from NC to OH (549 miles) and got damn near 18 in 2002. Ethanol in the gas may explain some of it. I avoid that **** like the plague.

Just made it 4 weeks ago with T/A (mods in sig) and did 22.9 running 80+ much of the way.....

I wouldn't waste my $$$ on a Diablo/Predator etc.... Look up a Wester or Nelson tune etc....and ask for a mileage tune. It will still take a while before you make up enough mileage to pay for it though. CAI is a waste too...

if anything just buy a air filter for the stock air system, I cant imagine a intake would honestly give you better gas mileage, as the air will be less turbulent when it hits the fuel, but thats just me, some minor exhaust mods would help with a tune id imagine. so go ahead and call SCT or some tuner and tell them you want better gas mileage

2.73 gears and drive slow... like 55 or 60 mph tops.
