they do bolt on don't they lol

When I get some heads and cam Ima call it boltons with a cam lol

Full boltons are everything except things that go inside of the engine. If it goes below the intake but above the oil pan and between the exhaust, then they're not boltons. Heads are not a bolt on though

Good rule of thumb: If it touches oil or has oil in it, it's not a bolt on. The only exception I can really think of to that would be gears, I consider gears a bolton.

boltons are anything you can do without actually tearing into the motor. and no heads do not count as boltons even though they "bolt on" lol. is pretty much anything you can do in your driveway within a couple hours

I've always considered it any modification to your car that does not involved the removal of an intake manifold or going into the motor and not a power adder(s/c, turbo, nitrous). Mainly Gears, suspension, exhaust/headers. Many consider an intake a bolt on.

I consider suspension outside of bolt ons, as well as gears or clutch/TC. To me, bolt on is lid, tb, intake mani, headers, rest of exhaust and pulleys. Shifter, gears, clutch, heads, cam...no. blower/turbo or spray, no as well. Free ram air or FTRA could be a bolt on. That is for me though. I tell people I am full bolt on, heads cam, geared. I don't really list my Ripper shifter as a mod lol.

Yep. If motor oil touches it, it's not a bolt on.

as far as I'm concerned if someone gets asked what they have... just saying bolt ons is sufficient, especially in a money racing situation. Everything bolts on/in, including a 408 with a turbo.

i consider an ls6 intake a bolt on, because it came on the ls1's in later years, but not a FAST

What does it matter if it came on an LS1 or not? Long tubes never came on an LS1 either, or an ewp, or an underdrive pulley, or a bunch of other stuff but they're all bolt-ons. It bolts on, doesn't touch oil or any moving part in the engine, and you don't need to open up the engine to replace it... Its a bolt-on.

I can speak from experience. Bolting a FAST 90 on a stock internal car doesn't add any power and in most cases it probably hurts power.
