Unhappy Whats wrong with my "00" ss ?

I have an 2000 camaro ss that I have owned for a couple years, now I have a problem where after starting it and driving the car 100' it starts missing real bad (like 3 or 4 plug wires are removed) sometimes stalling usually not it will run bad for 20 seconds to 1 minute then will clear up and run good. This usually happens after the car is driven then then shut off, and restarted while still warm. It has also happened on cold starts but not as often. The check engine light has flashed and came on and shows a #1 misfire. the car has 32k miles. I tried a differant used maf, coil pack cleaned the throttle body nothing helped. If anyone had this problem and can help me it will be greatly appreciated. thanks, Jerry

You might suspect a fuel system malfunction (although it seems to only do it when its warm, which is usually a timing related issue). Another thing, always remember, theres three things that are needed to run your engine: fuel, air, and spark. Try to logically pinpoint things that could fail based on those three items and you may find the problem. I wish I could tell you right off the bat, but this problem has many variables. I know I would have replaced the same things as you (MAF, TB Cleaner, Coil). Good luck...

My SS '01 SS had the same issue @ 46K miles. Turns out it was the ignition harness. My uncle said it can get hot or rub and wear through causing a short. The harness was routed weird to begin with so it didn't suprise me. He showed it to me, he took a screw driver and poked the harness and the car would sputter and damn near stall. he replaced it and everything was ok.

I would check that and also check your spark plug wires, make sure they're not burn, cracked, ect.

Default "00" ss

Are you talking about the harness going to the coil packs?

If your electronic savy get a mulitmeter and read the wires out. Sounds like a wire grounding out somewhere. Just a thought...

On a cold start it ran like ***. It would sputter like it was on three cylinders, SES light flashed but then after it warmed up to 180 it ran good.
turned out it was a bad o2 senser. whoda thunk?!!
anyway, hope that helps
