How much to be gained with just ported 241 heads?

Yeah you do. But you always hear of cam onlys, what about head onlys? I'm sure they must yield some gains especially if you can pick up some ported 241s or 243s. I'm talking cheap here not on a huge budget.

Im swaping on a set on new 243s with my stock cam and ill have it tuned by wes hopfuly ill let you know what i gain my car is an 02 ws6 a4 full bolt on and made 333rwhp im hoping to pick up about 15 to 20rwhp but we will see. But i had to take my old heads off anyway thats why i did the swap and i didnt want to do a cam before i have a built tranny and 12 bolt plus when i do a cam swap im going all out!!

Yeah I do have the 241s already, but what I meant is that (cost being the issue) I was wondering if I was better to step up to unported 243s OR keep what I have with a mild cam setup? That's all I meant by that. 15 at the wheels? That's not bad, so if I wanted to do a cam swap later (when I have money) I'd be ok to leave the 243s unported then?

Some guy made like 400whp with a LS2 GTO with just AI ported heads, exhaust I believe. No cam. Thats a great gain for heads only. I would think high flow heads and intake with stock cam will still make good power gains. heads make power. better top end can use smaller cams to get power, so even with stock cam, you are going to make more power with ported heads and good flowing intake
