If you used Kooks headers I would use the Kooks y-pipe as well as they were designed to be used together on the car.

Okay, that's easy enough since they offer package deals. Thanks man.

You can go with the Pacesetters as well with our TSP y-pipe. The TSP Y is in 4-different pieces with slip-fit connections so you have complete adjustability when installing. You shouldn't have any fitment or clearance issues, period.

That sounds good too. Thanks to all the sponsors and members for their support. I will be making my decision soon. Looks like I'll be sticking with some from one of our sponsors on here

Thanks again.

If you were commenting to my post, than i would go with TSP Y-pipe. The price difference from the TSP Y-pipe compared to others is a big difference. John is right when he says it comes in 4 different pieces so it is extremely adjustable to have a perfect fit. BUT when i bought the TSP Y-pipe to fit my Kooks steppd style headers , there was a little problem. One of the pipes that connects to the outlet of the header wouldn't fit, It was not a problem, i just went to auto zone and rented a pipe spreader and it fit like a glove. So all in all just get the the TSP Y-pipe. Hope this helps

You do realize the poly motor mount write up is 25 steps of sheer hell, and what most people describe as the hardest thing to do to these cars, even while doing headers, right?

my buddy just bought a pacesetter y pipe and LT's.. got the extensions also..

me and my dad did it for him (my dad knows very little about these cars, but its nice to have help)..

we did it on the ground in front of his shed..

jack the rear up and put a cinder block and a 2/4 under the tires.. scotch them..

then jack to front up and put a cinder block and 2 2/4s under the tires.. scotch them.. let the jack down enoguh that some pressure is on the tires but the jack is still keeping the weight off them..
doing it this way you will have PLENTY of room..

we did the entire swap (taking our time and cleaning stuff along the way) in about 3 hours..

everything slid in perfectly and no banging or anything like that..

from the week before and the night after we did the swap.. he picked up 3/10s and 5 1/2 mph in the 1/8... id say that worth the 480$ shipped!

if you were more local id do the swap for dinner!

Good info there, thanks! I'm going to go to my buddies this weekend or next and see what he thinks. I might tie into the powerflo slp cb, OR he thinks it might be easier / better to go true duals. We'll see. BUt all the help I got off here is helping me to make a decision. I'm going with either tsp, arh, or one of our other sponsors. Maybe the redesigned SLPs would be nice (but pricey) since I'm trying to keep it an SLP car through and through for appraisal and value purposes. Thanks to everyone.

SLP's are no good dont get me started on SLP(david hamburger) they pretty much sold out all the firehawk owners and told us to go **** ourselfes because they wanted to put the firehawk name on g8's. Everyone told them it was a bad idea and he pretty much said " I dont care what yall think yall arent the target consumer" thats why i will never buy anything from SLP EVER again i would look at Kooks or ARH if you want Stainless steel tsp sells pacesetters which are good headers but made of mild steel which means they will rust faster, but theyre a good deal, and fwiw i would get the poly mounts the headers fit in there so close if your stock ones are worn at a little bit the motor can actually torque over and bang on the k member thats why everyone said you need polys especially if you plan on putting any kind of aftermarket cam in later. ive seen almost all these headers up close and have to say that the WELDS and mandrel bends on the ARH and Kooks are unbeleivable, plus they have the best collectors and make the most power, if you can afford the ARH or Kooks they are hands down the best. Hope this helps

ARH's have awesome ground clearance.

Thanks for the opinion. I still love SLP but I do in fact see your point. DOn't worry about the G8 Firehawk, there will only be 200 of 'em. BUt yeah, they sold us out sort of for sure. Thanks again, I don't want to go cheap here, I want what works best (preferably stainless or ceramic coated) and performs the best. Fitment of course is a concern that I'm not too worried about now after hearing from some of our sponsors about the revised fits and adjustability. I'm stoked!

whered you get info on the g8 firehawk i was wondering how many were going to be made before they axe the g8. Your going to love which ever LT's you get the sound is unbelievalbly NASTY. I have the Loudmouth exhaust and love the sound with the cam but with the cut out open OMG def. one of the best mods i did to my car.

my vote if your going to spend some money is Kooks LT's and Ypipe.. thats what i have on my current car and i love it.. but, it is expensive... the ypipe is 400 and the headers are like 800 or so.. have it going into magnaflow... its quit riding around and stuff... loud enough you can hear it, but not too noticeable.. at WOT it screams.. its as loud as a cutout car without a cam.. with my cutout open.. well its a cammed car with a cutout!

Really? I didnt read the writeup, but I did the poly motor mount mod to mine. I dont know where you come up with sheer hell though, it wasnt really all that hard if you know how to use a drill & a die grinder.
