Default newbie does first mod

Yes, I did one at last. Z06 intake installed. Was a great adventure under the cowl of the Z28. Lots of sharp things to scratch yourself up in there. Got rid of the AIR and EGR stuff too. Car pulls stronger now. Next stop LT headers and no cats with true duals. Cam after that. I was a little hesitant to do a mod cause I had not done any mods on one of these late model cars. I am from the carb and distributor era. Have not done any hot roddin in 20 years. Got some great pointers from guys on this forum. Thanks for the help. I am off an runnin now.

Congrats, you should get the Fast Toys Ram Air(FTRA), and a lid. You should see around 7-12rwhp with those two. Then do your exhaust you will feel a bigger gain then. More air in, more air out

It took about 4 hours. I had to fabricate the three block off plates for the EGR on the headers. Removed all the AIR stuff too. Did the coolant bypass on the TB too. I think that if you pull the plastic connectors up from the cowl that hold the rubber seal to the cowl you will not lose as much skin. Now that I know what I am doing I could do one pretty fast. Probably 40 minutes or so. My hands and wrist were a mess. Looked like i got caught in a rose bush. I really appreciate your help and advise before I did the mod. The referral to the ls1howto was great. Thanks bro ! I felt great when I was finished. Turned the key and it fired right up. No problems. Got the mod bug big time now. After thinking about it I'll do the lid and fernco next. Thanks again !

Take some wire cutters and trim the pointy things off of the plastic rivits under the cowl. Your hands and for arms will thank you.

Thanks for the info. I really like the wheels on your car. Can't seem to find any deals on those. T T II's right. Everyone wants an arm and a leg for them. Do you know of any deals??

I got my wheels, tires, SS center caps and lug nuts for right at $2000 from discount tire. Tell them to give you their best price and that you are going to shop around. You can haggle with them a little. They will go down on their price usually.
Good luck.
