cam only?

cam only? if you just change the cam and not the heads will you still notice a big difference .......also has anyone heard anything about the comp cam thmpr cam? by the way this is for a 2001 camaro ls1 with ls6 intake

You can get real good gains from just a cam. Not sure how new you are to performance world so think i'll just throw this out there... with a cam you will also need to upgrade the valvetrain(pushrods, springs, etc.).
Depends on your cam. If you do something mild and you dont have a ton of miles you can get away with a simple cam swap with some new valve springs.
With the cam your going to want to do things that help the car breath. SLP lid, headers, exhaust
A good buddy of mine put a hot cam in... not that great of a cam, but sounds good and gives a little pep. But he got NO gains out of it. He put headers on and it gained around 25 rwhp because it was able to breath.
Also, a good tune will do wonders too!
You wont need to do any fuel upgrades or heads or anything else. Your stock fuel pump should take you to about 400 rwhp (assuming it doesnt die from age).
