Default 1st gear pull

Hey guys
I have a 2000 WS-6. It feels like when I accelerate in 1st gear that as the rpms go up I am not picking up more speed (accelerating quicker). econd gear feels okay. I had 8000 miles and is stock. It dynoed @ 308 hp but don't feel like
it in 1st gear. Any thoughts will be appriciated.

I know you got 8K but is it possible your powering thru the clutch?
The stock '00's & down clutches leave alot to be desired.

That would be my guess, too. I fried my clutch in my 00 SS in about 5k (bought it used) Can you scratch the tires into 2nd? Does the clutch seem to engage slowly at high RPM shifting?(mine did this horribly) Laters.

You should be able to pretty much destroy the tires in first and at least half way through second. My clutch is on its way out, but it's spinning all the way through second. Granted, I have 245/50's, but even for you, 1st gear should be about worthless.

I really see one of two potential reasons for that to be happening. One would be that your clutch is going, but I would think that it would be worse in a higher gear due to the torque multiplication. The other option is that your tires just might be spinning on you and you can't hear it. If that's the case, welcome to torque.

No real problems here. I think there's a soft spot on the gas pedal. I wonder some times if the car is slow but then i hammer it and it anilates the tires. The first thing to check is the clutch.

!?!? We're talkin about his engine speed increasing without the forward speed of his car not increasing. If his clutch is toast, that's a pretty significant problem. Not only that, but what does it have to do with a "soft spot on the gas pedal"?!

"Can you scratch the tires into 2nd"

Im having trouble scratching inot 3rd and im replacing my clutch. I think You should watch your speedometer next time you feel as thought the car isnt accelerating and see if its jumping if it is your spining your tires, if its not your gonna need a clutch. Being that your car has 8k on it I would try to get it warrentyed, if your yound have your dad or older family member take it in they will giv him less **** then you.

i have a 00 z28 m6 with a lid and cutout and i cant annihilate my tires unless i slip the clutch a little, From a stop though, i just go. My car just goes, it doesnt spin the tires easily from a roll, only way, will be if im making a turn and i hammer it, but thats about it.

I think that ChiefBrody is right. There has to be a soft spot or maybe with only 8000 miles the pedal has never seen the floor. I babied mine when I first got it but that is wearing off quickly. I think he needs to hear his rpm limiter before saying it has no power in 1st gear. If he truly had it WOT in 1st gear then he would have heard his limiter by now.

I agree with DMNSPD 1st is about worthless without good tires or a good start from a roll, so maybe it is his tires .

I hear people saying all the time that they can smash the throttle in 2nd gear aqnd shred the tires, I think if you can do that either your tires are alredy bald, the ones you have are worthless, or you just need to figure what else is wrong with your car. I have fulda's on my car, 255 on the back, not the best rated tire in the world and I can punch it from a slow roll in 1st and not break them loose. And when I hit secon at nearly 6k it only spins for about 40 feet or so not half the gear. And that's driving it like a raped ape, maybe there is something wrong with mine or something but my last one was the same way.

actually, my car is pretty weak for a m6, but i burn about a quart every 500 miles. I dynoed 296rwhp and 306rwtq with a lid!! next pull they were back to back, my power went down to 290rwhp and 303rwtq. Im hoping to get the car reringed so i can get back some power
