Be careful about getting too good of a launch. If you're on the 7.5 10 bolt, it'll go quick.

I'd launch it at about 2500 rpm. Get the clutch out as quickly as possible without blowing the tires off, but allow a little wheel spin. Hold the throttle where it is until the wheelsping stops and then let her eat. You may have to work on the launch rpm, but 2500 should be a good starting point.

If it starts wheel hopping bad, get out of it in a hurry.

You should spin less at the track than on the street. If it hooks at 2500rpm on the street, you could try 3000 at the track, just beware the 10-bolt may kick the bucket.

That depends on how wide of a wheel you're looking at and how much work you want to do in the form of banging your inner fenders. I think the general concensus is that the biggest you can really go without running into problems are 315's on an 11" wide wheel.

Add rear suspension SFC at least. Look at my mods in sig I'm a M6 like you and track or street I launch 1200 rpms no spinning off the line or in any gear. Stock tire size and not a DR. Suspension doesn't wear out tires do. Hope this helps p.s. My ten bolt lives

well i was only looking at a set of 9.5 inchs but if i can go 10 or 10.5 with out having to do anything to the fenders in the rear that would be sweet. and i dont mind staying at an 8 or 8.5 in the frunt thats fine by me i just love the look of wide rears. a buddy has a 99 ARC Viper and the dires on that a mean as hell lol but that should help a lot for the launching thanks i will let ya know how it goes when i get a chance to test it out and any other input the the tire size would be great thanks

OE wheels sells a variety of wheels that offer a 10.5'' rear width, usually linked with a 9.5'' wide front tire. Great prices too.

so i had a chance to do some launching today and i can tell that im getting better at it 2200 to 2700 seems to be right where i want to bee (22 on normal roads and 27 on fresh tar) thanks for the help.

anyone have any tips on looking for tires? i found a set of rims li liked on oewheel.com but not to sure on what kind of tires i should look at. also do NOT want to have to mess with the fender wells and it is a DD so drags are a no go to much rain here.

link to the rims i was looking at:

19s... good luck finding a drag radial for that.. i have 18s and its tough selection, i would opt for 18s max, but 17s leaves tons of tire options...
and smaller tire= cheaper tire

I don't believe nitto or mickey make radials for 19s... either way good luck

I wouldn't go 19's. An F-Body looks goofy without a sidewall, you'll get less traction off the line, and tires will be more expensive and limited.

If you want to be staggered front to rear, do a 17"/18" stagger. I know a few people who went to 19's and immediately regretted it.

17 front 18 rear but nitto drag radials, little better grip and they will last the longest and can be driven in the rain, just not like a ****.
