I am putting a procharger on my car and just picked up some 317 heads for the setup, do you guys think it would be ok if I left the stock valves on it, I will be running a dual spring for sure but I was concerned if I should run titanium retainers and maybe aftermarket valves, I talked to a few guys and said I would be ok with just the dual sping in them but I wanted to hear other ppl opinions...

How much boost are you looking at running? On 8-10 lbs they should be fine. Any more than that and I would go ahead and throw in a set of stainless valves. If the heads are off, I would go ahead and do it as well. You are looking at a couple hundred in valves and some machine work to valvejob and install. Let me know if we can help. We keep a decent selection of valves on the shelf!

I will be running 8 to 10 lbs for now but do plan on getting to 14lbs or so in the future. and yes the heads are off, can you give me a name and number and I will call sometime today for a few questions if thats ok with you

would it be a good idea to port these heads? or are they good as is?

If you plan on running these heads for a while I would give them the works. Port/polish, stainless valves, TI retainers, and dual valve springs. If you plan on going after market in the future I would just do a set of dual springs and run them for what they are.
