Default need advice

hey i just got a ls1 short block for my 81 camaro i dont know what to intake to use, should i go with the edelbrock carburated intake or use the new tpi setup edelbrock

because it will be leagues better then any TPI imo......

in 2001 when they put the ls6 on the ls1's they claimed it gained something like 20hp or so...over the ls1 intake. Not only that but I think they look way cooler then carb's or TBI or TPI... Just my .02 though. Also makes it a lot easier to run spray from.....

ya it will still bolt right on. You may have to get a harness though for it. Look up pictures if your not familiar with what they look like vs what a carbed ls1 looks like...

I think carbs are old tech and the ls1 defiantly does great with the new tech as it was the first in a series of the LS based engines......

It wouldn't be unheard of for you to run over 500hp on ls6 intake with some heads/cam and bigger TB with supporting boltons and tune and the throttle response is much better over the carb imo.

If going for sound only, the Thumpers are supposed to be nice. For a street car I like the 224 cams from TR and TSP. For more track oriented I like the torquer series from TSP and lots of people like Futrals cams. Or custom spec one from pred z or patrick g. All good options IMO.
